Highlights
Most people know about
Hokusai (1760  1849), the
famous "ukiyo-e" woodblock printer...but what about Mokuami (1816 - 1893), the Kabuki dramatist? and Kobayashi Kiyochika 18471915), the painter who combined ukiyo-e with modern painting? They  too left giant footprints around here. Depicted in countless movies and TV dramas, this walk takes you to the original site and very real mansion of Lord Kira, immortalized in the "47 Ronin" and retold in annual TV and movie productions of "Chushingura".

Now the home of Edo-Tokyo Museum and the Kokugikan, the home of sumo in Tokyo.  Like all Japanese Shinto deities, Kameido Tenjin loves to be carried through the streets just about this time of year...Learn about old Edo at the museum, then walk the streets the museum describes!

Where does this tour end?
Tour ends at Kameido station in Koto-ku.
