Highlights
What was the last shogun of Japan doing and where was he when the Imperial troops took control of his fortress of Edo Castle? Tokugawa Yoshinobu (1837-1868) was the 15th and final shogun.
Yanaka is a special place, but why? This tour, therefore, is an answer to such questions. It is indeed very fortunate that the Japan that just about everyone thought was gone long, long ago is, still, so tenaciously holding on around here and has not yet entirely succumbed to the encroaching monstrosity called redevelopment.
Where does this tour end?
Tour ends at Sendagi station.
